FSG Bacc Camp 2026
Our now legendary Year 7 and Year 8 FSGBacc Camp will be on Friday 10th July 2026. A great evening for the girls - many of them describe it as the highlight of the year!
It's a brilliant event, starting with all the students (and their helpers) putting their tents up on the field, arriving from 6:30 to 7:30pm. We have an outdoor cinema, campfire, hot chocolate, then an overnight camp. In the morning there's a full English breakfast before collection at 10am on Saturday.
How much does it cost to take part?
In the past we have been able to provide this opportunity completely free of charge. Unfortunately pressures on school budgets make that no longer possible, so we’d like to offer this on a pay what you can basis. The suggested cost per head is around £10.
We would like to reiterate that this event truly is pay what you can. We do not link donations to sign ups - if you wish for your daughter to take part, please fill in the form linked above.
If money is too tight, pay nothing.
If money is tight, pay what you can.
If you can afford a little more – then pay a little more.
Payment is via Wisepay and whatever you pay, it will go towards the cost of offering this fabulous event for your daughters.
There will be an external provider of mocktails (Sip Sisters, run by FSG Alumni) and we are looking to guage interest in pizza on site (there's a question on the sign up form). We are still finalising pricing and details, but mocktails will be around £4.50 each. Your child will need to bring a bank card to pay the external providers directly.

Can the school supply tents?
We would really appreciate if parents/carers could supply tents for their children. In previous years we have been able to lend tents, but these are in short supply in 2026 as they are required elsewhere. Last year we spent a considerable time putting up and breaking down requested tents that went unused when students brought their own from home.
Therefore we would politely request that tents come from home unless all other avenues are exhausted.
Students have been asked to think about their groups in form time, and to informally enquire at home if there are tents available within the group. Clearly not every student will need to bring a tent - all that is needed is one willing family!
For the camp last summer the majority of pupils brought their own tents, and in the sign up form we ask you some questions about this. If you can bring your own tent it is a great help. However, due to space we need to limit the size of these tents to 5-person tents (we don’t want/can’t cope with vast marquees that you need a degree to erect!).
Whilst we will have a lot of staff and sixth form helpers who will be there to support in erecting the tents, in previous years parents/carers stayed on site for a few minutes to help their daughter’s set up their tents. This is not a requirement, but we are happy for you to stay from 6:30-8:30pm if you daughter does need help setting up. You’d be most welcome!
We'd also be grateful for help taking the tents down on Saturday morning!
How are the groups formed?
All students in Year 7 and 8 will be told about the camp in assembly, and asked to get into groups of no more than 5. This means that by the time parents/carers sign their children up, they will hopefully have a good idea of who will be in each tent. The students will also be told that they should ask informally at home (as they have done in the past) if a tent might be available.
Form tutors fill in the lists of groups during registration, and will check that there is a tent available that will fit the whole group.
Ideally we keep students within a form group together, but if your child wishes to share with students in another form this is possible. They need to request that their form tutor emails the FSG Admin team, with the details of who they wish to share with, and they will double check the groups.
If students wish to change groups they should talk to their form tutor who will organise it with the admin team.
For safeguarding reasons, students are not allowed to camp alone in a tent.
Year 7 and Year 8 are not allowed to share tents, and camp in separate areas of the field. Students will be given a pitch number when they sign in which will be marked on the field.
Are they allowed mobile phones?
We realise the girls may want these for selfies or torches or perhaps to call home if a little anxious. We don’t wish to ban their use, nor do we want to police their usage for the night. We’d simply ask that the girls live in the moment, enjoy time with their friends and immerse themselves in the real world, not the virtual one! Perhaps a bonus is that there is no opportunity to charge phones on site so when they are gone, they’re gone!
Can my daughter leave early/arrive late?
This is usually possible, with confirmation from a parent/carer. Please contact Mr Frost via email (the email address will be on the letter sent home).
Can I see the presentation that was given in assembly?
Yes, it can be downloaded here.
I paid, but my daughter's name is not on the list?
We do not take into account donations as sign ups. Last year, we had some very kind parents donate even though their child could not attend - plus a donation gives no detail of medical information, dietary requirements or tent details.
It would not be ethical to link donations to sign ups when the event operates on a true pay what you can basis.
To sign up to the event, please fill in the form.
What happens if it rains?
As the camp is in July, we are hopeful that the weather will be good, however if the weather turns out to be against us, we will let all parents/carers know if we need to cancel. We make this decision during the school day on Friday 10th July. There is no contingency date available this year, so we will only cancel if we absolutely have to!
What are the expectations for behaviour?
We expect all students to be kind and inclusive when forming groups - no one should be left out, and once you are in a group, no one should be made to feel unwelcome.
The usual FSG Code of Conduct applies.
We will have no hesitation in calling parents/carers if it is felt that it would be better for a student to go home.
Should my daughter go?
We certainly think so - it's a great experience, and a wonderful, fun, evening. It is all done on a voluntary basis, so our staff are giving up their time for the students.
If you have any questions about specifics that are not answered on this page, please email Mr Frost via the contact form on this site - make it clear that the subject is the FSG Bacc camp so that it is directed swiftly.
