On Wednesday our Year 11's played in the semi-finals and finals of the Ashford/Shepway Netball League. The girls beat Homewood 17-1, followed by a win against Highworth 10-9 - meaning they have yet again won the league! ????

During the Homewood game, the girls demonstrated excellent teamwork throughout - communicating effectively, supporting each other and motivating each other throughout - yet most importantly, remaining modest with the win! The Highworth game was tougher competition, with Highworth scoring the first 3 goals. However, our students weren't phased by this, and of course stepped it up to finish the first quarter on a score of 3-3. The girls managed to maintain an equal score, for the second quarter and then stepping into the lead for the third and final quarter, bringing home the trophy! Elsie and Olivia were awarded star players - however each and every one played a vital part, and a special mention to Amy who is normally a defender, but played in a shooting position for both games!

It has been an absolute pleasure supporting this netball team over the past 5 years and watching them all grow, with yesterday being potentially the last opportunity some may have to represent FSG! The girls truly have been excellent and watching them play together so effectively and being so supportive of each other over the year's has been great to see. Yesterday was a proud, yet bittersweet moment. Some of the girls have been attending Netball Club since Year 7, whilst others have joined at other stages. All of these students have not only been committed to training at school but all now play for teams outside of school either in the Folkestone League or playing at Kent level. All of them have bought something special to the team, they've worked extremely hard and always had high levels of confidence and positivity. Understandably they were extremely happy with their win, but were modest about this and yet again have represented FSG brilliantly!
