Today marks Safer Internet Day 2026, a global campaign to promote a safer and better internet for all, especially for young people. This year’s focus is on Artificial Intelligence (AI)—from the chatbots and virtual assistants, to the algorithms that shape their social media feeds - the pdf below has some useful pointers about supporting the use of AI safely.

As a school, we reflected in assemblies last week about how AI can be a powerful tool for learning and progress, while addressing the risks of misinformation, privacy, and manipulated content. We encourage you to use today as a prompt to talk with your child about their digital life, and for further guidance, we recommend visiting the UK Safer Internet Centre's Parent Hub.
