On Wednesday 8th October we will be celebrating our first ever Culture Day at FSG.

In keeping with our status as an international school, we will be celebrating not only the culture of the student body at FSG but allowing students to research and showcase food, music, fashion, traditions and much more, from any country around the world that they are interested in.

Activities on the day will include:

  • For students that would like to celebrate their cultural dress, there is the opportunity for them to showcase this during a fashion catwalk parade during lunchtime on the 8th of October. Students must bring this clothing to school with them and change at lunchtime.
  • Wednesday 8th October is also a TAG Day in school, but we ask that students only change into cultural dress for the fashion show at lunchtime.
  • Cultural Fayre – during the afternoon of the 8th of October students will be involved in a cultural fayre showcasing research presented and created from our students. There will be an opportunity for each year group, 7-10 to visit the fayre across Periods 4 and 5, with quizzes, scavenger hunts, and prizes to be won!
  • Finally, across the week students will be able to engage with cultural sessions each lunchtime. There will be sessions on dance, language and traditions around the world, run by our 6th form Student Leadership team.

We cannot wait to see the FSG community come together to celebrate diversity and culture, and hope this will become a firm fixture in the FSG calendar for years to come.
