CanSat Regional Launch 2026
The CanSat competition provides students with the opportunity to have practical experience working on a small-scale space project. They are tasked with designing and building their own simulation of a real satellite, integrated within the volume and shape of a soft drink can. The challenge for students is to fit all the major subsystems found in a satellite, such as power, sensors and a communication system, into this minimal volume. The exciting climax of the project is an invitation to a regional launch day to see their CanSat launched onboard a real rocket.
Our team, “FSG Aeromatrix” was allocated the regional launch date of Thursday 19th March 2026 at the Stow Maries Aerodrome in Essex. The team put in a lot of effort into preparing their design for this project and received an incredible score of 34 out of a maximum 36 from the judges review of their preliminary design review document.
The day was a great success - thank you to everyone involved.
