Día de los Muertos 2026

Our annual Día de los Muertos celebration is nearly here!

Tuesday 12th October is not a non uniform day, but students can come to school wearing face paint and hair pieces - they have been shown examples in form time of the type that is appropriate. They can also wear bright flowers and big hairstyles.

There will be prizes for the most original face paint. Form Tutors will enter students for the competition in the morning and email Mrs Motley the pictures of their top 3 or the whole class if they wish.

As a special one off, the Canteen will serve Mexican/Day of the Dead food.

The MFL department will offer face paint during lunchtime in room 836. There will be consent form slips for the students to sign. Students can also bring rhinestones or other pieces if they would like them incorporated into their face paint.

On Tuesday 3rd  November and  Wednesday 4th November the films ‘Coco’ and ‘The Book of Life’ will be screened at lunchtime in rooms 835 and 834.

Day of the Dead activities will take place in all MFL lessons for Y7 and 8 throughout the week.
